3D2N @ Thailand

12 May 2007. Its the 2nd day of our Bangkok tour. The day started with a 8am (Thailand time) morning call from Bee Kuan. We washed up and went for breakfast at the hotel cafe. After a quick breakfast, we proceed to Platinum Fashion Mall again, which we had already shopped at the previous day.The girls spent another few hours at retail therapy, while Cedric and I relaxed at Grand Canyon Cafe. Cedric had Cafe Latte and I had Lipton Tea. After about 2 and a half hours, we gathered again at the lobby of Platinum Fashion Mall. We then proceed to an activity that detracts from enjoyment - praying to the Four-face Buddha. There, we prayed to a simple ceremony, which lasted about 45 mins. Next on the itinerary was MORE SHOPPING! There is a gigantic supermart 15 mins walk away from the Four-face Buddha called The Big C. There, we experienced the most back-breaking shopping trip ever, but also marvelled at the sheer size of the Super-Duper-Hyper Mart. Soon, we were all hungry and exhuasted. What we needed then was a good meal. Valerie suggested the refreshingly delicious Japanese food. It may just be the most affordable Japanese food we ever had! I ordered Fried Dried Pork Bento Set while Cedric had Katsu Curry Rice Set. We even had a few side-dishes to go around! It was all worthwhile and satisfying. After lunch, the girls continued shopping at the Chinatown of Bangkok, while Cedric and I retreated to our hotel for a nap. The heat and humidity of Bangkok weather caused my head to spin abit. A short nap till 7pm (Thailand time) refreshed me quite a bit, and soon, we were up and about, getting ready to have a nice steamboat dinner at the MK Restaurant in Mahboonkorn, or MBK as it was affectionately called. It wasn't a buffet-style steamboat, but rather, ala carte from a menu provided. The 2-hr battle with our stomachs ended in our surrender, having bloated ourselves to the maximum! The best part is, the whole 'battle' costed us only Bht$625.00! Since we were at MBK, we seized the opportunity to look out for local delicacies to 'pacify' my folks at home. Cedric bought 6 boxes of 'junk food' while I picked up 3. Following that, we actually took BTS train to Sala Daeng to look at the night bazaar. We strolled along the streets looking at nothing in particular until we came to a cafe named "Bugs & Bees". The deco and ambience of the cafe attracted us. So although we were not really thirsty, we walked into it. As usual, I had my dosage of tea, while Cedric went for the exotic Mango Marvel. He even ordered a Mango Crepe to go along with his drink! Thought he was still full! At around 11pm (Thailand time), we proceeded back to our hotel. We were really bushed when we were in our room, but also excited that we had a fruitful day. A shower later, we retired into our bed and ended our second day in Bangkok.

11 May 2007 . This day had finally arrived . today is the day l'm going bangkok with 8 of my close friends . including my brother cedric . jessie . jennifer . bee kuan . garis . adeline tay . valerie and adeline Goh . I met my brother 7.30am at singapore changi Airport terminal 1 to have breakfast . I had 面粉果 . while cedric had fried carrot cake . After that . we proceed to ya kun kaya toast for coffee . bee kuan then arrived . and while waiting for the rest . I ren into SuperHost Finalist 昀颖 . who was going to Beijing for her internship programme for 3 months . we were so excited to see each other that we screamed so loud . causing lots of people to look at us . cedric then took a photo for us . cedric and l then proceed to Row 11 for our check-in to Air Asia . Our flight number was FD 3502 . departing at 10.55am . Throughout the 2-hr flight . each of us have our own activities to pass the time . cedric and l read newspapers and took a nap . Garis played Sudoku . Jessie Jennifer and Adeline Goh played poker card games . while Valerie and Adeline Tay slept throughout the flight . When we reached Bangkok lnternational Airport . we took a group photo after going through the custom checks . Thereafter, our group proceeeded to our hotel; Hotel Asia in 3 taxis Except for a mild jam in the city . the journey was otherwise quite fast and smooth. However, the same cannot be said of the hotel check - in . there was a long delay while checking in as thecounter staff misplaced one of the online booking confirmation for 2 of our rooms . After searching through tons of documents for 45mins . we finally got all the 5 rooms we had earlier booked. To compensate us for the time wasted, all 5 rooms were upgraded to Super - Deluxe Rooms (we had paid only Bht#1770 . or equivalent to $78 for each room per night) . All of us thus had more than we bargained for . lts was already 2.15PM thailand time whan we went into our rooms . Our room number is 1123 - quite a nice number eh ? As our itinerary stated that we will be having lunch at a famous Wanton Mee stall . we changed and gathered again after 5 mins to set off for the stall . lt was only about 20 mins was from our hotel . the noodles there were extremely delicious but also extremely small in portion . cedric . Adeline . Valerie and l each had 2 & servings . the meal was extremely economical too . as each bowl only cost us Bht$40 each . which was about SG$1.70 only ! Then Cedric, Adeline Tay , Valerie and l went shopping at platinum Fashion Mall . and came out fully loaded with our bounty 2 hrs later . We then return to our hotel whereby cedric and l swam at the hotel pool for half-an-hour . Next . we gathered at the hotel lobby to prooceed for dinner at an authentic thai Restaurant called taling pling . lt is located just 5 mins waik away from BTS Station Surasak (S5) . the meal costed Bh$3200 but we had a treat from jessie . Thanks boss ! After dinner . it was another short shopping spree at patpong; near BTS Sala Daeng Station . Our First day in Bangkok ended with a 2-hr mahjong session in jannifer's room . lt was already 2 am thailand time when we went back to our individual rooms . As the mahjong game isn't finished . we intend to complete tomorrow night . Gotta sleep now..need to wake up at 8am thailand time tomorrow for the hotel breakfast . Goodnight for now !

Dinner @ Suntec City

Today, the 3rd of May 2007; Darran and I went to Suntect City basement to have dinner.

We went to a restaurant called "Just Noodles". I ordered a Spicy Chicken Set which costs $5.90 while Darran ordered a Bulgogi Beef Set which costs $8.30.

On top of that we ordered Spinach Tofu and Prawn Rolls which totalled to $5.60.
