3D2N @ Thailand

13 May 2007 - Today is the 3rd and last day of our Bangkok trip. In order to catch some good buys at the famous Chatuchak Weekend Bazaar, we had to wake up especially early. Breakfast was at 7.45am, which meant we had to wake up at 6.45am! A quick breakfast later, we were on our way to the famous JJ Market. The weather was extremely hot and instead of taking the taxi, the 6 of us decided to take the BTS train system. As it is a Sunday, there was an especially big crowd in the train, all of whom I believe are heading to the very same destination. We were proved right. The train was almost empty when it rolled into the station. Apparently, the hot weather did not deter the shopping crowd hungry for some great bargains found nowhere else. As Cedric and myself are not in a particularly shopping mood, we decided to zoom in directly to the thing which I wanted to get - a blue Adidas sling bag. We found a few stores selling almost the same thing but after comparing prices, settled on one of the stores which offered a relatively lower price than others. I got my bag at Bht$180, equivalent to about S$8. It was a real bargain! While the ladies carried on their retail therapy, Cedric and I returned to our hotel to pack and rest. Cedric was feeling especially exhausted after exposure to the extreme weather and soon he had a slight headache. I beckoned him to take a nap while I walked out to MBK to get us some local delicacies to bring back home. My walk to and fro MBK was only 20 mins but I was perspiring heavily bu the time I reached the hotel. Cedric just woke up too and we decided to go for a light lunch before handing over our room key to the check-out counter. At about 1.30pm, we gathered at the hotel lobby and consolidated our luggage and boarded the airport transfer mini bus which will take us to the airport. Looking out from the bus window, I was quite emotional, recalling on the events that happened in the past few days. The shot holiday was a little rushed but nonetheless, fun. On the flight back to Singapore, we were all a little less active than our flight there. Guess its both the exhaustion and the unwilling parting with Bangkok thats affecting our moods. It'll be a brand new week and we'll all be busy with our working lives again. We parted at Singapore Changi International Airport and look forward to another overseas trip with them again!
